Dive into the search for Amelia Earhart’s plane

See how explorers are using STEM in an attempt to answer one of the greatest mysteries of our time—the disappearance of Amelia Earhart and her plane during the final stages of her quest to circumnavigate the world in 1937.

Leading experts in the search for the Lockheed Electra 10-E aircraft that vanished over the Pacific Ocean will share their progress and discoveries during two special programs taking place during the Amelia Earhart Festival in her hometown of Atchinson, Kan.

The events are free, but require registration and space is limited. The sessions include:

Adventure Amelia, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, July 19

Deep Dive with Deep Sea Vision, 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 20

The talks are organized by the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum as part of the Amelia Earhart Festival July 19-20, which also includes the “Empowered Women” Symposium at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20. Kamia Bradley, the 2024 Amelia Earhart Pioneering Achievement Award recipient, will share her story of overcoming homelessness to achieve her dream of flight as a First Officer for SkyWest Airlines.
