Saturday STEM Seminar: Saving the Earth One Student at a Time

FreeDuring Science City’s Saturday STEM Seminars, STEM professionals present hot topics in science, technology, engineering and math as well as highlights of their education and career paths. A Q&A session follows. The seminars, geared toward students in grades 7-12, are open to the public. Registration is required, but walk-ups are welcome!
This seminar features Marsha Skoczek, an accomplished Geoscience educator who embodies the 3 Cs: Staying Curious, Being Courageous and Making Connections. Follow along on her exciting journey to Space Camp, the NOAA Teacher at Sea program, National Park trips with her students and more! Discover how her journey can inspire you to excel in your educational career through curiosity, courage and connections.
Skoczek has been teaching Earth and Space Science for nearly 30 years and is currently with the Geoscience Academy, which focuses on students with a passion for the earth sciences. She is extremely involved and dedicated to her students, guiding them through participating in the Greater KC Science & Engineering Fair, taking them on trips across the country to do research and has won several awards for her efforts.
