Superhero Studies: Beneath the Mask | Overland Park, KS

$149What makes superheroes so popular? The recent success of superhero films has a long and fascinating history behind it. In this Johnson County Community College summer youth course, students will explore the historical origins of America’s most beloved superheroes: Superman, Batman, Captain America, and more!
This course will have a distinct social studies focus. Answer such important questions like: Why did superheroes develop when they did? What does our love of superheroes reveal about American culture? How does history intertwine with the superhero genre? What do mythology and superheroes have in common? How does storytelling impact society?
